In himself, nothing; in God, everything. That is his motto. He knows well that the world will never see him as God sees him and he has stopped caring. He rests perfectly content to allow God to place His own values. ”

bio

My name is Mackell Phillips! I am the second oldest of five! All sisters! I love experiencing new things, meeting new people, and anything outside! I travel whenever possible, I’ve had the privilege to visit 47 U.S. states and 3 countries. I would consider myself an introverted extrovert… or an extrovert with social anxiety… or maybe I’m just an extrovert who tends to care too much what people think. Either way alone time is great, but I definitely thrive with good company! The above words of Tozer have become a personal prayer of mine.

“He rests perfectly content to allow God to place His own values.”

I desire to live a life pleasing to God alone | Galatians 1:10

Not I, but Christ | Galatians 2:20

I graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My three interdisciplinary cognates were Business Administration, Global Studies, and Psychology. I have been a middle / high school teacher for the past six years at Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy. In that time I have also had the opportunity to work / volunteer at multiple youth, sport, and adventure camps. I love Jesus and I have a huge passion for creating spaces where people can engage in wholesome community.

life right now

Currently living in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, I am following a desire which I believed God has placed on my heart to teach internationally whilst simultaneously working to learn the Spanish language. This is not a decision that I have made lightly. It has been in my prayers and on my heart / mind for many years. Recently, after praying, researching, and applying, I found myself presented with opportunities to teach in Guatemala, Panama, or Argentina. I eventually chose Inter-American School in Xela (“Shay-luh”), Guatemala and moved here at the end of July 2024! IAS is an international Christian school with a mission to “promote academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment, prepare life-long learners who will offer their God-given talents and passions to the world, and foster a community that seeks to address the needs of others through a life of Christian service.

If you feel led to donate, I would be overwhelmingly grateful! Either way, if you made it this far, thank you for hanging out!

¡vive sin meido!
