What We Do

 

The Hang is a place for students from grades 5 – 8 to come ‘hang’ while focusing on current homework, projects and fun. Behind the scenes, they will be establishing peer relationships and defining a winning strategy for high school and beyond. The objective is to enable middle schoolers to learn and establish habits in a fun and friendly environment. While each session begins with current homework, the reward at the end of the day is gaming events leveraging the latest in fun video packages – all powered by Games2U. 

The Hang at Cups & Cones is designated specifically for students of this age group. During hang-time, Monday-Friday from 4:00 to 7:30, this area is theirs alone and is not shared with any other groups (this includes parents!). The artwork is targeted towards the ‘hang’ – contemporary and cool…

At the beginning of hang-time -time, snacks will be available for purchase with the option of ordering dinner – each night another local restaurant will be featured.

Cost/Arrangements

The cost to participate in The Hang is $150 per month. This includes four days per week for a period of one calendar month (it works out to about $3.25 per hour). With degreed “tutors” and college helpers, hang-time helpers provide a role model that is exemplary!

Snacks and meals are available at an additional cost.  

Hang-time is dedicated to help students on a consistent basis, but it is focused on helping students. For those students who need only periodic help there is a $25 charge for drop-ins.
